A recent "Futility Closet" post noted that:

the polynomial x^2 – 2999x + 2248541 produces 80 primes from x = 1460 to 1539

The formula n^2 - n + 41 produces prime numbers for all n's from zero to 40. At 41 it fails.

Factoid: In English, "4" is the only number with the same number of letters in it as the number it represents.
